In 1980 a few concerned citizens and business leaders in
Northeast Ohio began meeting together to prayerfully consider changing the direction of
American public policy. This small group of men and women decided to establish an
organization that was different. Through much prayer and discussion, the founders of the
Ohio Roundtable decided to strategically organize a state-based public policy organization
founded upon the mission statement of "Restoring traditional Judeo-Christian
principles to American public policy.
America was built one citizen, one community, one state at
a time. Seeing America change for the better means applying that same formula today. The
commitment of the Ohio Roundtable and Freedom Forum founders is to operate the most
effective, consistent and influential public policy organization possible - here in Ohio.
The hope was that if we do our job well enough here in our state and with our members of
Congress, perhaps we can encourage others across the land to share our common vision.
After two decades of providing this kind of state-based
leadership the results are significant. A timeline of the accomplishments is available on
this site. More importantly, the work of Roundtable and Freedom Forum continue to help
real people make a real difference in the world of public policy.
